Alligator Pond win Manchester Major League
Alligator Pond emerged the 2018 Mikail Phillips-sponsored Manchester Major League champions after outlasting Los Perfectos 2-0 at the Manchester High playing field last weekend.
This was the second time Alligator Pond were winning the championship. Their first tile came in 2014. The win on Sunday was set up by Javian Griffiths’ first-half goal in the 34th minute and then by Lost Perfectos’ costly own goal (Winston Simpson), to make it 2-0, a minute after resumption.
Alligator Pond‘s 2-0 win is not a surprise. They had beaten Los Perfectos twice in the preliminary rounds, including the opening match of the season, where they won 1-0. This was repeated in the return phase of the preliminary round.
